Project Overview

History of Stanford Involvement in Project
In August of 1998, California State Senator Diane Watson arranged for a Bermuda delegation, comprised of the XL Education Initiative Steering Committee and Bermudian government ministers, to meet with a professor at Stanford University to discuss the development of an information technology (IT) curriculum for Bermuda's public schools. In September of 1998, a proposal submitted by the Stanford team, led by Professor Eric Roberts, detailed plans to develop such a curriculum.

Stanford Bermuda Project Overview
Stanford's computing curriculum development effort involves more than the generation of appropriate material. We believe that a successful curriculum effort depends on four components:

  • Pedagogical design
  • Curriculum content definition
  • Professional development
  • Student assessment
