New 5.03: Retrospective Comparison Study

How third and fourth-year students have progressed through their senior school careers in terms of IT course taking patterns and outcomes.

Primary research questions:

  • How do students differ that have taken no, one, or two programming classes with respect to general knowledge of computer science, educational aspirations, history of technological experience? Are more classes better?
  • In what ways have students used or applied knowledge and experiences gained from programming courses (i.e. other courses, future plans, competitions).
  • What is the general pictures of S3 and S4 students in terms of student access to and experience with computers and technology?
